Canon Snare to Retire at the end of January

The Rev’d Canon Pamela Snare will retire from her position as Canon to the Ordinary at the end of January, 2018. She has served in this position since the Summer of 2007.

In over ten years in the Diocese of Tennessee, Canon Snare has worked closely with the Bishop in matters of congregational transition and clergy placement. She has worked with almost every parish and mission in the diocese through the call process; for a few on multiple occasions. She has also spearheaded the building of community among the clergy through the development of the Annual Clergy Colloquium, the Annual Clergy Silent Retreat, and the Fresh Start program for clergy just beginning in congregations. She is a highly esteemed and senior figure among her colleagues in transition ministry in other dioceses. Canon Snare has also served as Chief of Staff for the Bishop since 2014.

Canon Snare and her husband Jerry plan to continue to live in Nashville. They will be honored at a reception held on the Friday of Diocesan Convention this year, and Canon Snare will be recognized in a Special Order of Business at Convention that same day.
