The Commission on Ministry oversees the entire discernment process and makes recommendations to the Bishop at the various stages. The role of the Bishop is central and pivotal. No one proceeds from one stage to the next without his consent. The Bishop's responsibilities include accepting Nominees, Postulants and Candidates, maintaining close contact with the Commission on Ministry especially the Chair, receiving the confidential results of the medical and mental health evaluations, consulting with Nominees regarding financial resources before granting them admission as Postulants and providing the required documentation and recommendations for ordination to the Standing Committee.
