St. Paul’s, Franklin Welcomes New Rector

St. Paul's Church in Franklin has called a new rector, the Rev. William Russell (Rusty) McCown.  Rusty's first Sunday service at St. Paul's was the 9th of July.  To officially mark his arrival, a Celebration of New Ministry (see p. 559 in the Book of Common Prayer) is planned for Wednesday evening, August 23rd, beginning at 6:00 PM at the church, with a reception following the service.  Bishop John and the clergy and congregation of St. Paul's invite all to help them celebrate Rusty and his family.

Rusty and his wife Laura are moving here from the Diocese of Alabama where he served as Associate Rector at the Church of the Nativity in Huntsville.  In Rusty's life prior to being ordained to the ministry, he worked in the financial and insurance industries.  He also served as treasurer and as a member of the Vestry for his parish, so Rusty clearly knows what it is like to work from both a lay and clerical perspective!
