SUMMARY:Come Pray and See
DESCRIPTION:Join St. George’s Church\, Nashville\, for time with special guests Hannah and Alex Absalom of Dandelion Resourcing. This couple has broad experience helping Christians develop a prayer-directed life that is attuned to the powerful work of God even in everyday situations. Alex and Hannah teach folks how to grow in their personal prayer—how to become more attentive and responsive to God\, how to be pastorally sensitive when we pray with others\, and how to trust in the power of the Holy Spirit.  \n\n\n\nThe conference begins Friday evening at 6:15pm in Johnson Hall with teaching and a celebration of Eucharist with an extended time to receive prayer. The conference continues Saturday from 10:00am to 12:30pm as we learn to pray—for situations\, for relationships\, for faith\, and more. We will also learn to listen to God. Come pray\, and see! Please register online for this FREE event.

SUMMARY:Compline
DESCRIPTION:Stemming from monastic practice\, Compline is the last service of the day before bedtime. From the same root as the word “complete\,” Compline in the strict sense marks the beginning of a time of silence—from the end of the service lasting until the morning. This brief and beautiful service is set in a darkened church and sung by a small men’s choir. Remain as long as you wish after the service in this quiet space\, departing in silence.

SUMMARY:Sacred Ground: A Film-Based Dialogue Series on Race & Faith
DESCRIPTION:Sacred Ground\, The Episcopal Church’s eleven week series on race and faith\, will be offered virtually on Monday evenings January 8 – March 18 (an in-person option is available Tuesdays\, January 9 – March 19).   Built around a powerful curriculum of documentary films and readings\, this series invites participants to walk back through history—peel away the layers that brought us to the challenges and divides of the present day and envision a future as Beloved Community.  Each session offers space for difficult but respectful dialogue in large and small groups.  Parishioners who have completed Sacred Ground have described the series as a transformative springboard for individual and communal growth.  \n\n\n\nSacred Ground will be facilitated by members of the Diocesan Beloved Community Commission and participation is open to Episcopalians in the Diocese of Tennessee.  Each class is limited to 35 participants.  There is no cost to attend but participants must be able to commit to regular attendance and 3-4 hours of weekly class preparation.  Registration for the following classes will be accepted as they are received\, with a deadline of Wednesday\, December 6. Click HERE to learn more or contact Nancy Cason \n\n\n\nMonday evenings (Zoom)January 8 – March 186:30 – 8:00 pmTo register\, click << HERE >>
