Liturgical ministries of all kinds are invited to participate: altar and flower guilds; vergers, acolytes, thurifers, and torch bearers; lay Eucharistic ministers and visitors; readers and lectors; choir members and leaders; healing prayer ministers; and ushers and greeters. Lay and clergy members of the Diocese of Tennessee may also attend.

There is no charge for attending but registration in advance is required. Register HERE

Our guest speaker for the day will be Dr.  Eugene Schlesinger who is a Religious Studies Professor at Santa Clara University (Santa Clara, California).

Eugene Schlesinger received his B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and his M.Div. from Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, NC before spending five years in pastoral ministry. His pastoral work raised questions about the relationship between the church’s life of worship (liturgy) and its engagement with the world around it (mission), which in turn drove him to pursue doctoral studies at Marquette University. This in turn ignited his love for teaching, especially at the undergraduate level. Dr. Schlesinger specializes in twentieth-century Catholic thought with a particular focus on developments in liturgical and sacramental theology and their impact on the Christian church. His current research itinerary explores the centrality of a theology of sacrifice for understanding Christian existence.
